Another outbreak of ASF occurred August 19th in Haizhou District of the city of Lianyungang, in the Jiangsu Province. This marks the third reported outbreak of ASF in China.

A bat was found by a passerby on a walking pathway between Lake Harriet band shell and Lyndale Park on August 10th. The bat subsequently died 2 days later and was submitted and tested positive for rabies on August 14th.

There is now a second case of African swine fever (ASF) in China. It was found in a slaughterhouse where 30 pigs died of ASF. The slaughterhouse is located in the city of Zhengzhou in the Henan province.

Following nearly two weeks of containment efforts, disinfection, and active surveillance with no new cases, Chinese officials identified a second case of ASF on Thursday.
