The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) named CAHFS as one of 6 collaborating centers for veterinary services capacity building in 2006. CAHFS strengthens the ability of national veterinary services to support the public good by consulting with the OIE when called upon and developing proposals of procedures to help facilitate uniformity in international regulations related to the surveillance and control of animal diseases, food safety, and animal welfare.
