Summary

Valeriia Yustyniuk, DVM, PhD is a Post-Doctoral Associate at the Center for Animal Health and Food Safety at the University of Minnesota. She is originally from Ukraine, where she received her DVM (2013) and PhD (2017) in Parasitology and worked as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.

With almost 10 years of teaching and research experience, she is competent in course development and implementation, addressing the WOAH guidelines on Day-1 Veterinary Competencies in the veterinary curriculum. Dr. Yustyniuk has significant experience in collaboration with stakeholders from the public and private veterinary sectors through the implementation of international projects funded by the FAO and DTRA. Her current work focuses on improving veterinary education in post-soviet countries, controlling transboundary diseases, and securing food safety globally. Dr. Yustyniuk’s areas of interest are One Health, zoonotic diseases and food safety and quality.
