Sarah Neuser, DVM

Sarah Neuser is excited to return to the Center for Animal Health and Food Safety as a resident in the Veterinary Public Health and Preventive Medicine program. As a veterinary student, Neuser served as President of the National Student American Veterinary Medical Association (SAVMA), where she represented students nationwide and worked with leading organizations to advocate for veterinary students, veterinary-related policy, and interdisciplinary collaboration. After graduation, she moved to Tucson, Arizona, and worked in small animal private practice before joining the Humane Society of Southern Arizona in 2021. There, she worked in multiple leadership roles, as Veterinarian, Medical Director, and interim Chief Programs Officer, overseeing the care of shelter and community animals and leading medical and operational initiatives. Her professional interests include improving accessible veterinary care, global public health, and leadership development within the veterinary profession. Outside of work, Neuser enjoys cooking, warm yoga, lake life, and spending time with her family, pets, and friends.
