Summary
Dr. Emmanuel Busingye is a veterinarian and field epidemiologist with a special interest in One Health applications to investigate disease at the human-animal interface. He is also interested in rural livelihood improvement; for example, he supported the northern corridor of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline Project (EACOP) in Uganda as a consultant under the livelihood restoration program in 2024, and has also worked as a public veterinarian in Nakapiripirit District Local Government- Karamoja Sub region. He holds a Masters of Veterinary Preventive Medicine- Field Epidemiology Track (2023), and a Bachelors of Veterinary Medicine (2018) from Makerere University, Uganda, a Post- graduate diploma in Agricultural Extension Management (2023). He is a former student of the first Cohort of ProgRESSVet Uganda, in 2020. Currently he is a ProgRESSVet fellow at the Center for Animal Health and Food Safety in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
