Chuong Dinh Vo, DVM, MSc

Chuong Vo is a PhD candidate in Veterinary Medicine, with a focus on epidemiology, at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. He is originally from Nghe An, a central province of Vietnam. Chuong completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Vietnam National University of Agriculture in 2006. After graduation, he worked in terrestrial and aquatic animal disease prevention and control at the Vietnam Department of Animal Health.

In 2015, Chuong earned a master’s degree in aquaculture from James Cook University in Queensland, Australia. When African swine fever (ASF) was introduced to Vietnam in 2019, he was appointed the national focal point for ASF. In addition to ASF, Chuong has been involved in the prevention and control of other terrestrial animal diseases, including avian influenza, rabies, foot-and-mouth disease, and lumpy skin disease.

He is currently working as a graduate assistant at the Center for Animal Health and Food Safety, where his research focuses on the epidemiology and control of ASF in Vietnam.
