Chuong Dinh Vo, DVM, MSc
Summary
Chuong Dinh Vo is currently in his first year of study in Master of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Chuong was born and raised in Nghe An province in the center of Vietnam. Chuong graduated from Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), majoring in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2006. After graduation, he worked in terrestrial disease prevention and control as an officer at the Veterinary Epidemiology Division with the Vietnam Department of Animal Health (DAH). He moved to work for the Division of Aquatic Animal Health with DAH for ten years. In 2012, Chuong was selected as an awardee for the Australian Development Scholarship (ADS) to do a master in aquaculture at James Cook University, Queensland, Australia. In 2019, he was transferred to the Veterinary Epidemiology Division and was assigned as the focal point for African Swine Fever (ASF) in Vietnam. Apart from ASF, he is involved in other terrestrial animal diseases, including avian influenza, rabies, foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), and lumpy skin disease. He is currently working as a graduate assistant at the UMN Center for Animal Health and Food Safety (CAHFS).
