José Sánchez Vizcaíno is a full professor of Animal Health at the Veterinary School of the University Complutense of Madrid, Spain and the Director of the OIE Reference Laboratory for African Swine Fever. His scientific interest focuses on the study of epidemiology, preventive medicine and control of infectious animal diseases, specifically in developing new diagnostic techniques, vaccines and strategies for their control. He has won numerous awards and recognition in his field and is currently an adjunct professor in the Veterinary Population Medicine Department at the U of M College of Veterinary Medicine.
